"Bolsena, Everything You Need to Know" is the first comprehensive book written in English about Bolsena and the surrounding area, it was written by an English journalist staying in Bolsena in the Summer of 2003 and published in April 2004. Fleur gives a fascinating insight to the local customs and invaluable practical information about how to make the most of your stay. I would recommend this book to anyone visiting the area and since it is difficult to find locally it is well worth ordering a copy before you go.

Image: Cascades at Saturnia
Image: Cascades at Saturnia
The hot springs in Saturnia is an extraordinary geological phenomena, warm water appears as if from nowhere and cascades down the hillside providing a beautiful place to bath, massage one's neck in the many warm waterfalls or cover oneself in mud from the bottom of the stream.
This is must for those adventurous travellers and is very popular with all age groups. There is no charge to enter the cascades and there is a small cafe nearby. It is best to avoid the midday sun as there is limited shade.
It takes an hour and a half by car from the Yellow House but it is slightly confusing when you arrive as you will be encouraged to go to the still hot spring with no cascades - this has a charge and is not nearly such fun, stick to your guns and find the cascades.
