Two weeks before you leave, email Kalle and Mariella your flight details.

On the day you arrive and as you are leaving Ciampino or Fiumicino airport, ring Kalle or Mariella on their mobiles to let them know when you expect to arrive.
It takes approximately one and a half hours to drive to Civitella d'Agliano.

Kalle or Mariella will meet you in the town square by the fountain and escort you to the house.
If you are arriving late or are happy to find the house on your own, please contact Kalle or Mariella two weeks before you leave and they will e-mail the directions from the town of Civitella d'Agliano to the Yellow House.

Often one arrives late in the day or during the hours when the shops are closed, 1pm-5pm, the shops open again from 5 until 8pm. Times vary slightly with each season and shops are closed on Sundays.
If you would like some food and drink left at the house for your arrival, please e-mail Kalle and Mariella a list of what you would like, a few days before you arrive. Payment to be made locally to either Kalle or Mariella.
The house will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure.
The house is provided with bed linen and towels (including swimming towels).
If you are staying for more than one week and would like a change of linen during your stay (sheets and towels), please contact Mariella or Kalle before your arrival and this can be arranged at a charge of 20 Euro per person and paid locally.
Get yourself a good map, we use “Touring Club Italiano” maps, choose the region Lazio, but if you are going to tour some of Tuscany and Umbria you will also need Tuscany/Umbria regions,
scale = 1:200 000.
On leaving the airport take the first major sign to Roma on the autostrada, follow signs to the G.R.A (Granda Racorda Annulara – our equivalent of the M25)
After about a minute the road forks to the right, take this exit, the "Napoli-Firenze" road (NOT the Roma exit).
Follow signs for A1 Firenze (not Napoli) and after about 30 seconds you should see a sign for "Roma nord – Firenze", continue in this direction.
After about 20 minutes from the airport, you should arrive at exit 10 of the G.R.A for the A1, there is another sign for "Roma nord – Firenze" take this and immediately after the exit the road forks, bear right to Firenze (NOT left to Roma nord)
Continue on the A1 for about 30-40 minutes until the exit for Attigliano, leave the A1 at Attigliano. (You will meet the tollbooth here, be ready with your change, about 3.5 Euro)
Turn left at the T-junction in the direction of Viterbo/Bomarzo (also small sign for Civitella d'Agliano)
After about 2 minutes you should drive over a bridge on the river Tevere, then take the first road on the right to Alviano, Orvieto, Bagnoregio, Civitella d'Agliano.
Continue in the direction of Castigione in Teverina until you reach another crossing with a STOP sign, turn left to Civitella d'Agliano.
Find the main square, have a cup of coffee and an ice cream and wait for someone to escort you to the house.
